Space Exploration Society Logo Design
Credit: New York University
When I started as the President of the Space Exploration Society (SES) at NYU in January 2021, my team and I had a vision of creating a logo that incorporated the NYU torch while still retaining its own identity. This rocket design was created using Procreate and printed on vinyl paper for stickers given out to our club members. The curving of the letters is made to give a 3D effect on a 2D object. This logo is featured on our Instagram page, @ses.nyu. For more information about SES, please visit the Space Exploration Society page of my website.
Poster Design
In my Visual Foundations Studio class, one of our assignments was to create a series of posters based on songs from an afrofuturist artist. I chose the artist, Parliament, using their songs ‘Body Language’, ‘Mothership Connection (Star Child)’, and ‘Unfunky UFO’. The constraints of the assignment included incorporating the title of the song, the year the song was made, the artist name, the album name, and some or all of the lyrics. There were created in a tabloid format in Adobe Illustrator with the intention of being printed. The major creative choice in this design was to use text as image for the song titles. These posters were created in October 2021.
Editorial Design
Another project from my Visual Foundations Studio class was an editorial design created around a paper on design philosophy by Tony Fry. These spreads were created using Adobe InDesign and used illustrations from Adobe Illustrator as well as pull quotes to break up the body text. This editorial spread was created in November 2021.
